Bobbi Angell illustrated
the Garden Q & A column, authored
by Leslie
Land, each Thursday in the House and Home section
of The New York Times for many
years. Beginning with occasional illustrations
in 1995, her pen and ink drawings depict a broad
spectrum of both popular and unusual varieties
of annuals,
perennials, bulbs, trees and vegetables. Many of
the illustrations used in the column are featured
in the compilations 1000 Gardening Questions and Answers
and The Gardener’s Essential Companion.
The pen and ink illustrations from The
New York Times and other publications
are available for license and re-use. Queries
are welcome for uses including garden books and
field guides, wedding invitations, and gourmet
food and bath product design and marketing. A
complete list with thumbnails of over 600 plants
is available upon request.
